Kruse is onto something.
I watched every minute of this and enjoyed it, until it went sort of dark and it got worried about its own intent, and still I enjoyed it, but overall, when I watch these bells-and-whistles things as newspapers learn how to do them, I wonder if it's all too much goofin' around. That's a very strong urge with web-centric life. Just like with features, it's always easier to do something quick and riffy (until you start to write something quick and riffy and realize this, too, is hard), but it's really, really hard to go deeper. Since it has been stipulated that web video isn't Frontline, then what is it?
I want to read a dark and worried piece of prose about a night in the life of the restaurant that serves penis. Don't get me wrong -- I think I want the video too. My compliments to the chefs.

This video was funny, scary, interesting and, at the end, a little strange. But let me assure you all that eating penis is not foreign to the United States. Actually, my dad has worked at Shop-Rite for more than 30 years, and the meat manager in one of his stores used to carry pizzle, which is bull penis.
I can't imagine eating it, but at least we know somebody does.
