Read his story: Three little blond boys stood in a line in a strip-center dojo in Hernando County's rural east end. Gambatte Karate is in the Sunrise Plaza with a Quiznos sub shop and a Winn-Dixie grocery store. This Little Dragons class not long ago was for kids 4 and 5 years old.
"Are you ready!?!" sensei Tim Hartranft yelled.
"Yeah!" said the three little boys.
"Are you sure!?!"
"Yeah!"
"I. CAN'T. HEAR. YOU!!!"
"YEEESSS!!!"
"Because I'm a stranger," Hartranft finally said, "and I'm coming to get you!"

Man, I like this part:

The truth: Violent crime has been going down for a generation, in Florida and around the country, including child abductions, murders and sexual assaults. The number of sex offenses in the state has gone down every year since 1997 except one.
Kids have a better chance of dying in a car crash or falling down stairs.

And another reality is that in Brooksville alone, there are over 95 sex offenders. Many of which live within SIGHT of schools even though they aren't supposed to. Look it up. If you can do your own research, you will realize it and see it. This article also comes right after there were THREE child abductions in Florida alone...Not one or two, but THREE! All within a two month period. And those were just the ones that were publicised.
This guy is just trying to prepare those kids for a POSSIBILITY. Not an eventuality. It is WAY better to be prepared for the worst, and never need it than not to be prepared, and need it.
The guy writing the article had absolutely NO direction in his writing, and did not even come close to portraying what all went on during the class. I've seen his classes even though I don't have a kid who is in them.
Believe that there aren't monsters out there if you like, but when YOUR kid gets abducted, don't blame this guy. Kudos to him!
